The Julie Sill Yoga & Pilates Studio is a boutique, wellness sanctuary offering private and duet classes in Yoga, Pilates, General Fitness and Wellness Programs. JSY is a haven where you will work your body, energize your mind and free your spirit. We feature customized, individual conditioning classes for all levels of practitioners.

Julie Sill is the founder and owner of Julie Sill Yoga & Pilates Studio as well as the principal teacher. A certified Yoga and Pilates teacher, Julie brings over 30 years of experience and education to her teaching as well as an extensive background in body studies. These years of study have provided Julie with a comprehensive understanding of anatomy, body movement and the connection between the body and the mind. S

Our Yoga teachings follow a philosophy rooted in Ancient Yoga practices, thousands of years old, with the origin to know and understand ourselves and the world in a better light. We practice as an opportunity to see within each moment to become more present and connected to the universe. We practice ethical-moral purity, calm mind, equanimity, compassion and humility while moving in a physical practice. Along this path we develop physical and mental strength, flexibility, fortitude and awareness to create more empathy and compassion towards ourselves and others.

Our Pilates teachings follow a method developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates. Joe Pilates called his method “Contrology” intended to strengthen the human mind and body. Pilates believed that mental and physical health were interrelated. At the JSY Studio, we explore both Classical/Traditional Pilates as taught by Joe as well as Modern Pilates which was developed to preserve the original work by First Generational Teachers.

Both Yoga and Pilates develop flexibility and core strength while encouraging the mind/body connection. Both require focus on proper posture and positions. Yoga and Pilates are designed to flow together and are terrific combination. In our Yoga classes we explore more deeply the ancient practices and philosophy while in our Pilates classes we explore more deeply the “powerhouse” and how Joe’s original work has evolved to present day.
